Addressing the feedback in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mohanlal emphasized that Barroz was a unique and experimental venture for him, and he does not believe it should be compared to Hollywood films.
Reflecting on the audience’s role in the film’s success, the actor noted, “From here on, it is the audience’s responsibility to carry the film forward. After four decades in the industry, I see Barroz as something I am giving back to society.” He also mentioned that everyone who had watched the movie seemed to enjoy it, but there were critics who hadn’t seen it yet were quick to judge.
Mohanlal, known for his humility, stated that he has always been open to criticism. However, he stressed the importance of having a proper understanding before making judgments. “This was just an experimental attempt from me and my extraordinarily talented team,” he said, reinforcing that the film was never meant to compete with Hollywood standards but was a product of his passion and creativity.
