Kunchacko Boban’s latest action thriller, Officer on Duty, is making waves at the box office, raking in a massive ₹3 crore in a single day. The film witnessed an overwhelming response on Sunday, with around 350 houseful shows and an additional 200 extra screenings arranged across the state to meet the surging demand. Not just in Kerala, the movie has also been performing exceptionally well overseas, drawing audiences in large numbers.
The film tackles a socially relevant theme, making it appealing to viewers across all age groups. Recognizing its immense potential, Dream Big Films, in collaboration with Green Room Productions, has acquired the nationwide distribution rights for the movie.
Marking the directorial debut of actor Jithu Ashraf, known for his roles in critically acclaimed films like Nayattu and Iratta, the movie boasts a strong creative team. The screenplay has been penned by Shahi Kabeer, an award-winning writer behind Joseph and Nayattu. The production is helmed by Martin Prakkat, Sibi Chavara, and Ranjith Nair under Martin Prakkat Films and Green Room Productions.
The film’s cinematography is handled by Roby Varghese Raj, the director of the blockbuster Kannur Squad, while Chaman Chacko has taken charge of editing. Jakes Bejoy has composed the music, adding to the film’s gripping atmosphere.
Featuring a stellar cast, Officer on Duty stars Kunchacko Boban and Priya Mani in lead roles, with a talented supporting cast that includes Jagadeesh, Vishakh Nair, Manoj KU, Sreekant Murali, Unni Lalu, Jaya Kurup, Vaisakh Shankar, Ramsan, Vishnu G Warrier, Laya Mammen, Aiswarya, and Amit Eapen.
The film’s visual and artistic elements are handled meticulously, with Sameera Saneesh managing the costumes and Ronex Xaviour in charge of makeup. Anoop Chacko and Nidad KN serve as the still photographers, while Rajesh Menon leads the art direction.
