Muhsin Parari Steps Back from Songwriting to Focus on Filmmaking

Award-Winning Lyricist Prioritizes Directorial and Screenwriting Commitments

Renowned lyricist and scriptwriter Muhsin Parari has announced a hiatus from songwriting to concentrate on his filmmaking and screenwriting projects. Muhsin shared this decision on Instagram, revealing his intention to complete current songwriting commitments but refrain from taking up new ones. He cited the challenges of managing multiple creative roles simultaneously as the reason behind this move.

“Just here to make it official (and save myself the stress of saying no to my dear friends and collaborators). I’m taking a break from songwriting for movies. (Still, I have some existing commitments to deliver!) I have truly enjoyed writing songs, but for the coming years, I need to focus exclusively on my directorial ventures and screenwriting commitments. Turns out, I’m just too weak to multitask—despite those occasional confidence boosts. So, until next time…let me try making some movies. Thank you for the love and understanding,” he wrote on Instagram.

Muhsin is celebrated for his poetic lyrics and has contributed to popular tracks in movies like Bheemante Vazhi, Virus, Halal Love Story, and Thallumaala. His work in Sudani from Nigeria earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Screenplay in 2018. While his lyrical brilliance will be missed, fans eagerly anticipate his forthcoming ventures as a filmmaker.
