The highly anticipated trailer for Asif Ali’s upcoming Malayalam film Kishkindha Kaandam was released across social media by its makers. The film, directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, has been granted a U/A certificate by the CBFC and is set to hit theatres on September 12, making it a festive Onam release. Billed as “a tale of three wise monkeys,” Kishkindha Kaandam marks Dinjith’s second directorial venture with Asif Ali, following their successful collaboration on Kakshi Amminipilla.
An Intriguing Teaser
Prior to the trailer release, a teaser offered glimpses of the film’s thrilling plot, set against the backdrop of a forest reserve named Kallepathi. Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali are cast as a married couple, while veteran actor Vijayaraghavan portrays Asif’s father, whose character seems to have a mysterious past. The lush scenery, wildlife, and especially the monkeys featured in the trailer reflect the film’s unique storyline. The teaser also hints at Section 144 being imposed in the area due to Naxal movements and a public threat, adding to the intrigue.
The Cast and Crew
*Kishkindha Kaandam* boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Nishan, Jagadish, Ashokan, Shebin Benson, and Major Ravi. Bahul Ramesh penned the screenplay and handled the cinematography, while the music is composed by Sushin Shyam. Produced by Joby George under the Goodwill Entertainments banner, the film wrapped up production in August 2023.
