BMW is all set to introduce the high-performance M4 CS (Competition Sport) in India on October 4, bringing an enhanced version of its already formidable M4 model. Positioned between the standard M4 and the exclusive M4 GTS, the M4 CS comes equipped with significant performance upgrades aimed at both track enthusiasts and daily drivers seeking a thrilling experience.
Engine and Performance Enhancements
The BMW M4 CS houses an upgraded 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine, delivering a substantial 550 bhp of power and 650 Nm of torque. This represents a 20 bhp increase over the M4 Competition, achieved by optimizing the turbo to push more air into the engine. Thanks to this powertrain, the M4 CS accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds, making it 0.1 seconds quicker than the Competition variant. The car reaches 200 kmph in 11.1 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 303 kmph.
The M4 CS also features enhanced engine cooling and an improved oil supply system to ensure durability during extended track sessions. To further enhance performance, firmer engine mounts have been added, offering better powertrain responsiveness, especially during aggressive driving.
Lightweight Design and Chassis Upgrades
To make the car even more track-ready, BMW has shaved 20 kg off the M4 CS’s weight by incorporating a titanium exhaust silencer and parts made from carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. The lighter chassis not only improves acceleration but also enhances wheel control and overall handling, contributing to a more dynamic driving experience. Additionally, the steering has been fine-tuned for better precision, making it perfect for high-speed cornering and track use.
With these significant enhancements, the BMW M4 CS promises to be an exhilarating addition to the performance sedan market in India, offering a balance between daily usability and track-ready performance.
