Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that the first-ever production unit of the newly launched Mahindra Thar Roxx, bearing the VIN ‘0001,’ will be auctioned for charity. The auction registration opens today, September 12, 2024, with all proceeds going towards a charitable cause. The Thar Roxx, a rugged and upgraded version of the iconic Thar, has been highly anticipated, with bookings starting on October 3 and deliveries slated for October 12.
Following the success of a similar auction in 2020, where the first Mahindra Thar unit was sold for Rs 1.11 crore, the company is aiming to make a significant impact once again with the auction of the first Thar Roxx. The SUV comes in various price ranges, starting from Rs 12.99 lakh for the rear-wheel-drive version to Rs 20.49 lakh for more advanced models.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx features a larger wheelbase than its predecessor, offering more space and comfort. Designed for off-road enthusiasts, it boasts aggressive styling with a high bonnet, large wheel arches, and unique LED DRLs. Buyers can choose from several exciting color options, including Everest White, Stealth Black, and Tango Red. Engine options include a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel, with 4×4 capabilities available in the diesel variant.
