
Maruti Suzuki India has added its CNG portfolio to Indian automobile market with the launch of the Alto K10 CNG today, priced at Rs 5.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The country’s largest carmaker now offers 13 CNG models, including Alto, Alto K10, S-Presso, WagonR, Eeco, Celerio, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga, Baleno, XL6, Super Carry and Tour S.
The company launched the S-Presso CNG on October 14, and the Baleno CNG and the XL6 CNG on October 31.
Maruti has added a CNG option to the Alto K10 three months after the third-generation model was launched in August. The Alto K10 CNG is available in a single VXI variant.
The Alto K10 CNG employs the next-gen K-Series 1.0-litre dual-jet dual-VVT engine, which develops 65PS in petrol mode and 57PS in CNG mode, 89Nm in petrol mode and 82Nm in CNG mode. Available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the Alto K-10 CNG mileage is claimed to be 33.85km/kg. All CNG models of Maruti are fitted with dual-interdependent electronic control units (ECU), an intelligent fuel injection system, stainless steel pipes and joints, along with integrated wiring harnesses for the CNG system.
