In a heartfelt discussion with Suhasini Maniratnam, celebrated actor Mohanlal revealed that there was a phase in his life when he considered stepping away from the world of cinema. Reflecting on his career, he shared his thoughts on his son, Pranav Mohanlal, who has successfully balanced his passion for acting with a love for travel and exploration.
“At his age, I too felt the urge to explore the world,” Mohanlal shared, reminiscing about his younger days. Speaking of Pranav’s journey, he recalled, “In the sixth grade, Pranav was awarded Best Actor at school. However, he has his own way of living—he chooses to focus on travelling and takes up films occasionally. That’s his personal choice, and we respect it fully. Life should be enjoyed, after all.”
The veteran actor also opened up about his early aspirations and his father’s advice. “When I expressed my desire to join cinema, my father encouraged me to first complete my education. I believe in giving children the freedom to make their own decisions. At Pranav’s age, I too dreamt of leaving cinema to explore the world. Today, I feel fortunate to see some of my dreams being fulfilled through him.”
Mohanlal’s reflections highlight not just his journey of resilience but also his pride in Pranav’s unconventional path, showcasing the importance of pursuing one’s passion and embracing life’s diverse experiences.
