The Maharashtra government has warned citizens against Covid Spike, ahead of the festive season. The recent warning by Maharashtra Health Department comes in view of a 17.7 per cent hike in Covid-19 cases in the state this week, compared to the previous.
Maharashtra Health Department’s Surveillance Officer confirmed that the state has reported the XBB variant, which is a new variant having a “growth advantage” over BA.2.75 and immune evasive property. In view of the recent spurt in fresh infections, the Health Department issued fresh guidelines and urged people to take precautions.
