Heavy rains are expected in the northern districts of the state for the next two days due to a low-pressure system extending from north Kerala to the Maharashtra coast and a cyclonic circulation over the Andhra Pradesh coast in the central-west Bay of Bengal. The hilly areas of the southern districts will also experience light rain.
Due to the heavy rains, educational institutions, including professional colleges, in Kozhikode, Kannur, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Ernakulam districts are closed today. Exams will proceed as scheduled. In Kasaragod district, all educational institutions except colleges have been given a holiday.
