Electricity charge hike hits the industrial units in the state. Over a 10 per cent increase in the current tariff has kept 110 KV and 66 KV industrial units under stress. A noted enterprise in Kerala will incur a loss of Rs 1 crore per year due to the hike in electricity tariff.
KSEB incurs the lowest transmission loss due to the 110-volt supply. KSEB’s Tariff order noted that the increase in the electricity price for the extra high tension sector will be nominal. However, over a 10 per cent hike from the current tariff has been rolled out for this sector.
