India’s stock market rebound on Wednesday brought significant gains for the country’s wealthiest industrialists, with Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani seeing their net worth soar. Adani’s wealth increased by Rs 27,800 crore (3.2billion),bringinghistotalnetworthto56.2 billion and securing his position as the 29th richest person globally, according to Forbes.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), also experienced a substantial rise, with his net worth climbing by Rs 11,200 crore (1.3billion)toreach92.2 billion. This places him at 18th on Forbes’ global billionaire list, reaffirming his status as India’s richest person.

The surge followed a 19-day slump in the Indian stock market, with the BSE Sensex rising by 740 points and the NSE Nifty gaining 254 points. Key sectors such as metals, automotive, IT, FMCG, media, and public sector banks contributed to the market’s recovery.

Adani Group, with interests in infrastructure, energy, ports, logistics, and renewable energy, and Reliance Industries, spanning oil, telecommunications, and retail, continue to dominate India’s corporate landscape. The rebound highlights the resilience of India’s economy and the growing influence of its top industrialists on the global stage.
