Kozhikode: The investigation into the tragic death of 35-year-old Fazeela from Malappuram, found murdered in a lodge at Eranhipaalam, Kozhikode, has unveiled new details. Police have discovered that the suspect, Abdul Sanoof, used a rented car borrowed from a friend to transport Fazeela to the lodge. The car’s owner has provided a detailed statement to authorities.
Fazeela, a native of Pattikkad, had checked into the lodge with Sanoof late on Sunday night. Their stay was booked for three days, but on Tuesday morning, the lodge staff discovered Fazeela’s lifeless body in a room locked from the outside. The postmortem confirmed strangulation as the cause of death, pointing to murder.
Sanoof reportedly left the lodge on Monday, claiming he needed to withdraw cash from an ATM. He has since been untraceable, with the phone number he provided at the lodge revealed to be fake. Investigators are pursuing leads in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, suspecting he might have fled the state. Sanoof, originally from Thrissur, does not possess a passport, limiting his ability to leave the country.
The police have registered a murder case against Sanoof and are intensifying their efforts to locate him. The case has sparked widespread attention, with law enforcement urging the public to assist by providing any relevant information.
