Dubai’s night sky will come alive on December 13 with an extraordinary spectacle featuring drones, fireworks, and skydivers. Combining cutting-edge technology and breathtaking performances, the event marks the 30th anniversary of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). The innovative pyro drone show will dazzle viewers above Bluewaters and The Beach, JBR, with synchronized skydiving stunts enhancing the visual extravaganza.
Kaltham Al Shamsi, assistant manager of Events Planning at Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRA), revealed that the event will feature two mesmerizing performances at 8 PM and 10 PM on December 13, with an encore scheduled for January 11. “The pyro drones seamlessly merge fireworks and advanced drone technology, offering a visual journey through the festival’s transformative legacy,” Al Shamsi said.
Marco Niedermeier, CEO of AO Multimedia and Drones, highlighted the collaborative effort with Skydive Dubai to create an awe-inspiring display. Elite skydivers, equipped with illuminated suits and pyrotechnics, will perform gravity-defying stunts from 10,000 feet, synchronized with the drones’ light effects. AO Drones, which operates a fleet of 6,000 drones, is renowned for producing iconic events such as the Burj Khalifa New Year’s Eve spectacle.
The drones, powered by advanced micro-engines, feature state-of-the-art software that delivers 3D animations and integrates fireworks with LED lights. The technology allows for unparalleled precision, even in windy conditions, making the shows a visual marvel.
Regular DSF drone shows, featuring over 1,000 drones, began on December 6 and will continue twice daily at 8 PM and 10 PM until January 12. This immersive experience combines storytelling with technological innovation, reimagining live entertainment on an unprecedented scale.
