Bengaluru: Traveling between Kerala and Bengaluru, particularly during the festive season, often comes with exorbitant ticket prices, leaving travelers burdened. With Bengaluru hosting a significant Malayalee population, the demand for economical transport options between the two states has been steadily increasing. Addressing this need, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched a new non-AC sleeper bus service, providing a pocket-friendly solution.
This initiative, aimed at easing travel challenges during the Christmas season, introduces services from Bengaluru to Kozhikode in the first phase, with Kottayam to follow shortly. The new service targets common passengers, offering a ticket fare of Rs 950 from Bengaluru to Kozhikode. However, the fares may vary on weekdays.
The 11.3-meter-long Pallakki buses, designed for comfort, feature amenities such as mobile and laptop charging ports. The service operates daily, departing from Bengaluru’s Shantinagar Bus Stand at 8:45 PM and reaching Kozhikode at 5:45 AM the following day. On its route, the bus stops at Mananthavadi and Kalpetta, catering to passengers in Wayanad as well. The return journey from Kozhikode departs at 9:15 PM, arriving in Bengaluru at 5:25 AM.
