Allu Arjun and ‘Pushpa’ Makers Announce ₹2 Crore Aid for Stampede Victim’s Family

Actor, Filmmakers Extend Support Amid Legal Case Following Tragic Incident

Actor Allu Arjun and the team behind the film Pushpa have pledged ₹2 crore to support the family of a 35-year-old woman who tragically lost her life in a stampede during a screening at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre on December 4. The victim’s eight-year-old son, critically injured in the incident, is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Allu Arjun, who was arrested by city police on December 13 in connection with the incident, was released the same day on a four-week interim bail granted by the Telangana High Court. The actor’s father, veteran producer Allu Aravind, along with Telangana State Film Development Corporation (FDC) chairman Dil Raju, visited the boy in the hospital, where doctors confirmed his condition is improving, and he can now breathe unaided.

The financial aid includes ₹1 crore from Allu Arjun, ₹50 lakh from the production company Mytri Movie Makers, and ₹50 lakh from the film’s director, Sukumar. Aravind handed over the cheques to Dil Raju, entrusting him with the responsibility of delivering them to the victim’s family.

A case has been registered against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station, following a complaint filed by the woman’s family. This tragic event has cast a shadow over the success of Pushpa, prompting an outpouring of condolences and calls for accountability.
