SEBI Chairman Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband, Dhaval Buch, have vehemently denied the allegations made by Hindenburg Research. The short seller had accused them of having stakes in obscure offshore funds linked to the Adani money siphoning scandal. The Buchs labeled these allegations as baseless and asserted that their finances are fully transparent, emphasizing that all necessary disclosures have been made to SEBI over the years.
In their statement, the Buchs expressed disappointment that Hindenburg Research, which is currently under scrutiny from SEBI, resorted to character assassination instead of addressing the enforcement action against them. They rejected the claims of having ties to offshore funds used in the alleged Adani scandal and reiterated that their financial records are open and accessible to any authority that may request them.
The Buchs also indicated that they will issue a detailed statement soon to ensure complete transparency. They expressed their willingness to provide any and all financial documents related to their period as private citizens to clarify the matter.
