We are just a day away from 2026, and a lot of new things are about to happen. One of the most controversial things that is most probably going to take place is that AI is set to eat more jobs this year. And a lot of big names from the industry, like Godfather of AI Geoffrey Hinton and even Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, also said that AI is going to take a lot of jobs this year.
In a recent development, Microsoft has released a list of 40 jobs that are at high risk of being sabotaged by AI. The research by Microsoft has analysed more than 200,000 real-world interactions with its Copilot AI chatbot. Its main purpose was to understand where generative AI is already being used effectively in the workplace and which roles will be more affected.
That being said, the researchers have shared the results in a ranking of occupations based on an ‘AI applicability score,’ assessing how well AI can perform the core tasks of each job. As per the study, all the roles that are heavily dependent on language, analysis, and information processing are the most vulnerable to AI disruption.
