Kochi: A case has been registered against popular Malayalam actors Beena Antony, Manoj, and Swasika, following a complaint by an artist from Aluva. The woman alleged that these actors insulted her modesty through a YouTube channel. The Nedumbassery Police filed the case, naming Beena Antony as the first accused, Manoj as the second, and Swasika as the third one. According to the complainant, the trio sought to humiliate her in retaliation for a previous complaint she had lodged against several other prominent actors.
The artist had earlier raised serious allegations against well-known figures in the Malayalam film industry, including Edavela Babu, Mukesh, Maniyanpilla Raju, Jayasurya, Jaffer Idukki, and actor-director Balachandra Menon. These allegations surfaced after the release of the Hema Committee report on issues within the industry. The police had registered cases against the named actors based on her complaints. Following this, Beena Antony, Manoj, and Swasika allegedly responded to the artist’s claims through social media platforms, including YouTube.
In a related development, a relative of the complainant has also filed a POCSO case against her. Additionally, Balachandra Menon has lodged a complaint against the artist, accusing her of blackmailing him over the phone and making defamatory remarks on YouTube.
