At least three others were injured and one died in an accident that occurred during repair works at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Anikumar (48), a Pettah native.
The accident happened when the workers lowered a high mast light near the airport runway using a rope. According to reports, the rope broke off while lowering the light, leading to the accident. The injured workers Nobil, Ashok, and Renjith were shifted to a private hospital for treatment. Workers alleged poor quality of the rope.
