Many of the affected passengers were Malayalis heading home to Kerala to celebrate the Onam weekend, a festival deeply rooted in family gatherings and cultural celebrations. Instead of joining their families, these travelers spent the night at the airport, their festive plans thrown into disarray. The airline had informed passengers that the flight would likely depart by 6:00 a.m., but as of the latest update, the flight had yet to take off.
The lack of consistent communication further exacerbated the situation, as passengers were left in the dark regarding their travel plans. Meanwhile, Air India also canceled its flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Delhi due to operational issues, affecting more passengers. The airline has since offered full refunds, complimentary rescheduling, and accommodations for the delayed passengers.
