Kerala Deploys Rapid Action Ambulance Units for Sabarimala Pilgrims

Enhanced Emergency Medical Services Along the Pilgrimage Route to Ensure Pilgrim Safety

To prioritize the safety and health of Sabarimala pilgrims, the Kerala government has deployed rapid action ambulance units under the KANIV (Kerala Ambulance Network for Injured Victims) initiative. These units are strategically placed along the pilgrimage route to offer timely and efficient medical assistance in case of emergencies.

In addition to the standard ambulances provided by the Health Department, the deployment includes specialized vehicles like bike feeder ambulances for remote areas, 4×4 rescue vans for rugged terrains, and fully equipped ICU ambulances for critical care. These resources are distributed across 19 emergency medical centers and oxygen parlours from Pampa to Sannidhanam, ensuring round-the-clock medical support for pilgrims.

Pilgrims can avail of emergency medical aid by dialing the toll-free number 108. An additional helpline at 0473 5203232 is also available for assistance.

This initiative underscores the Kerala government’s commitment to the well-being of devotees during the Sabarimala pilgrimage season. By integrating advanced medical facilities and rapid response systems, the state aims to enhance the overall safety and care of pilgrims undertaking the sacred journey.

The deployment of rapid action ambulance units not only strengthens the healthcare infrastructure along the Sabarimala route but also instills confidence among pilgrims about their safety. This proactive measure reflects the Kerala government’s dedication to ensuring a seamless and secure pilgrimage experience. By addressing medical emergencies promptly and efficiently, these services aim to uphold the sanctity of the Sabarimala pilgrimage while safeguarding the health and lives of countless devotees.
