Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan revealed on Tuesday that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala will execute development projects valued at Rs 13,013.40 crore within 100 days as part of its third anniversary celebrations. These projects are included in the fourth edition of the 100-day programme, scheduled for completion by October 22, and encompass a total of 1,070 projects across 47 departments.
This latest 100-day initiative aims to further enhance various government activities, ensuring the well-being of common people, social progress, and comprehensive and sustainable development. It also focuses on specific areas requiring special attention, aligning with promises made in the election manifesto.
“The initiative aims to implement projects worth Rs 13,013.40 crore across 47 departments within 100 days. Furthermore, it is expected to generate 2,59,384 job opportunities,” CM Vijayan stated.
A total of 706 projects are slated for completion and inauguration, with an additional 364 projects to be launched or announced within the specified period. This initiative includes both livelihood and infrastructure projects. New roads and bridges will be inaugurated, and 30,000 title deeds will be distributed statewide. Additionally, 456 modernised ration shops and 37 smart villages will be established.
A programme will be introduced to distribute expensive medicines, including cancer treatments, at zero profit through Karunya community pharmacy. The Chief Minister also mentioned that 10,000 individual houses will be handed over to deserving beneficiaries through the Life Mission programme during this period.
