Idukki: A tragic accident occurred in Pullupara on Monday when a KSRTC bus carrying 34 passengers plunged into a 30-foot gorge, leaving one person dead and several others injured. The bus was transporting a group of tourists traveling from Thanjavur to Mavelikkara when the incident happened around 6:15 am.
Preliminary reports suggest the accident resulted from a brake failure, according to passengers. The injured, including two in critical condition, were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The accident site, located between Kuttikkanam and Mundakayam in Idukki district, saw swift action from rescue teams. Fire Force units from Peerumade and Mundakayam, alongside police and Motor Vehicles Department officials, were deployed to the scene. Rescue efforts are still underway as authorities ensure that no one remains trapped in the wreckage.
