Safety Measures

Thunderstorms pose significant risks, including damage to life, property, and electrical infrastructure. The following safety precautions are recommended:

Seek Shelter: Move indoors immediately at the first sign of lightning. Avoid open spaces where the risk of lightning strikes is higher.

Secure Your Home: Keep windows and doors closed during strong winds and thunderstorms. Stay away from windows, doors, walls, and floors.

Unplug Appliances: Disconnect household appliances and avoid using them during thunderstorms.

Use Phones Safely: Refrain from using landline phones; mobile phones are safer during thunderstorms.

Avoid Outdoor Activities: Children and adults should avoid playing or staying on terraces or open areas if the weather is cloudy or stormy.

Stay Away from Trees: Do not stand under or park vehicles beneath trees during a thunderstorm.

Vehicle Safety: If caught in a thunderstorm while in a vehicle, stay inside with doors and windows closed. Avoid using bicycles, bikes, or tractors; seek shelter in a safe building until the storm passes.

Avoid Outdoor Chores: Do not go outside to collect clothes or perform other tasks during a thunderstorm.

Secure Loose Objects: Tie down any objects that could be blown away by strong winds.
