Kerala actor Shine Tom Chacko is set to face a detailed police inquiry as part of an ongoing investigation into a recent drug-related hotel raid. The Ernakulam Town North Police have prepared a preliminary list of 32 questions aimed at understanding Shine’s actions during the incident. A key point of interest is his sudden escape from the hotel room during the raid, which the police find suspicious.
To gather comprehensive background information, the authorities have already collected Shine Tom Chacko’s call records and travel history for the past month. In addition, CCTV footage from various hotels where he stayed recently, including the hotel he stayed in after escaping the raid, has been retrieved.
The questioning will be conducted under the supervision of Central ACP Jayakumar and is scheduled for the afternoon. Police plan to record the entire interrogation on video. Though there is currently no formal case or complaint against Shine, his unexpected behavior during the drug inspection has prompted deeper investigation. His family has assured full cooperation with the inquiry.
The incident is linked to a broader search for a major drug dealer in the city. Meanwhile, the film industry is also reacting. The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) awaits Shine’s explanation before deciding on disciplinary action, which could be severe. An emergency meeting of the Film Chamber is also planned for Monday to discuss the matter further.
