Wayanad: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Wayanad, will visit her constituency for the first time after her historic bypoll victory. She will address a joint public meeting alongside her brother, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, on Saturday, November 30, at Mukkam in the Thiruvambady Assembly constituency, Kozhikode district. The meeting is scheduled to begin at noon.
Following the public event, Priyanka will attend receptions across several locations. The itinerary includes stops at Karulai in Nilambur by 2:15 PM, Wandoor by 3:30 PM, and Edavanna in Eranad by 4:30 PM. These events mark her effort to thank voters and connect with supporters in the constituency.
Priyanka took oath as a Lok Sabha MP on Thursday, marking her official entry into Parliament. With her induction, she joins her mother, Sonia Gandhi, and her brother Rahul Gandhi, making them one of the few families with three sitting MPs. Priyanka’s maiden victory in the Wayanad bypoll came with an impressive lead of 4,10,931 votes, surpassing the margin her brother secured during the general elections earlier this year.
The Wayanad parliamentary constituency spans seven assembly segments, including Mananthavady, Sulthan Bathery, and Kalpetta in Wayanad district, as well as Thiruvambady in Kozhikode district and Eranad, Nilambur, and Wandoor in Malappuram district. Priyanka’s visit aims to solidify her connection with the region’s diverse electorate as she begins her journey as their elected representative.
