Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) delivered a stunning batting performance in their IPL 2025 clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR), amassing a staggering 286 runs—the second-highest total in IPL history. Falling just one run short of the all-time record, which SRH also holds, this explosive innings left RR with the daunting challenge of chasing the highest-ever target in T20 cricket.
Batting first after Rajasthan chose to bowl, SRH set the tone early with a solid powerplay partnership between Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. Their aggressive start built the perfect platform for what was to come. The real star of the show, however, was Ishan Kishan, who marked his SRH debut with a scintillating century, justifying the franchise’s investment in him. His fearless stroke play dismantled the RR bowling attack, sending the Hyderabad crowd into a frenzy.
The batting carnage didn’t stop there, as Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen continued to pile on the runs, ensuring that Rajasthan never got a moment’s respite. Boundaries flowed freely, and the momentum remained firmly in SRH’s favor throughout the innings.
With 287 needed to win, Rajasthan Royals now face a monumental task, requiring a record-breaking performance from their batsmen. The stage is set for a high-intensity second innings, as fans eagerly await to see if RR can pull off an unprecedented chase or if SRH’s batting brilliance proves too much to overcome.
