
Mumbai Indians secured their third victory of the IPL 2025 season with a thrilling four-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chasing a target of 163 runs, Mumbai successfully reached the score in just 18.1 overs, displaying a solid all-round performance.
Will Jacks emerged as the standout performer for Mumbai, top-scoring with a crucial 36 runs off 26 deliveries. He received support from Riyan Rickelton, who contributed 31 runs from 23 balls. Senior players Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav chipped in with 26 runs each, while captain Hardik Pandya played a quick cameo of 21 runs off 9 balls. Tilak Varma remained unbeaten with 21 runs off 17 balls, steering the team to victory.
For Hyderabad, skipper Pat Cummins led the bowling attack, claiming 3 wickets for 26 runs, while Eshan Malinga picked up 2 wickets.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to post 162/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma was their top scorer, making 40 off 28 balls. Heinrich Klaasen added 37 off 28, and Travis Head scored 28 off 29 deliveries. Despite a strong batting lineup, Mumbai’s disciplined bowling restricted their scoring. Will Jacks also made an impact with the ball, conceding just 14 runs in 3 overs and claiming 2 wickets.
Even with the win, Mumbai Indians remain at the seventh position on the points table, underlining the tight competition in this IPL season.
