Indian cricketer Sanju Samson unveiled the official logo of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) on Friday. The event also highlighted the logos of the league’s individual franchises. The KCL T20 matches are set to take place at the Greenfield International Stadium from September 2 to 19, with fans anticipating two thrilling games each day, including both day and night matches.
The KCL player auction is scheduled for Saturday at the Hyatt Regency, with a total of 168 players shortlisted. Each franchise will acquire 20 players, categorized into three groups: Category A (players with IPL and Ranji Trophy experience, base salary Rs 2 lakh), Category B (C K Naidu, U-23, U-19 State, and U-19 Challengers players, base salary Rs 1 lakh), and Category C (U-16 state players, university players, and club cricketers, base salary Rs 50,000). The auction will be broadcast live on Star Sports Three and Fancode. Icon players for the league include P A Abdul Basit (Trivandrum Royals), Sachin Baby (Kollam Sailors), Mohammad Azharuddin (Alleppey Ripples), Basil Thambi (Kochi Blue Tigers), Vishnu Vinod (Thrissur Titans), and Rohan S Kunnammal (Calicut Globestars). The league will be officially launched by KCL brand ambassador Mohanlal on August 31 at noon at the Hyatt Regency.
