India recently announced their ODI and T20I squads for the Australia tour. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made their ODI returns. They are now only active in the ODI format. The selectors sacked Rohit from ODI captaincy and handed over the job to Shubman Gill. Shreyas Iyer was given the vice-captaincy. The fans are eagerly waiting for Virat and Rohit’s on-field returns.
Virat and Rohit will play their comeback ODI on October 19. The first ODI of the three-match series will be played at the Perth Stadium in Perth. The action will move to Adelaide for the second ODI, to be played on October 23. The fixture will be played at the Adelaide Oval.
The Sydney Cricket Ground will host the third ODI of the series on October 25. All three ODIs will start at 9:00 AM IST. Virat and Rohit retired from T20Is after winning the 2024 World Cup, and they won’t feature in the T20I leg of the series.
After the ODI series, the two teams will lock horns in five T20Is. Suryakumar Yadav will continue to lead the Men in Blue in T20Is and will be assisted by Shubman Gill. The first T20I of the series will be played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on October 29.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground will host the second game on October 31. From Melbourne, the action will move to Hobart. The Bellerive Oval will host the third T20I on November 2. The action will move to the Gold Coast for the fourth T20I, to be played on November 6. The fifth and final T20I of the series will be played at The Gabba in Brisbane on November 8. India will host South Africa in a full-fledged series after the Australia tour.
