WhatsApp’s Linked Devices feature has made it easier than ever to use the same account across multiple devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. This feature allows users to stay connected on up to four additional devices without needing the primary phone to stay online. The process of linking devices is simple, but users should follow the necessary steps to ensure everything works seamlessly.
To use the same WhatsApp number on two smartphones, begin by opening WhatsApp on your primary device. From the settings menu, navigate to the Linked Devices option, where you’ll tap to link a new device. This action will open the QR code scanner on your primary phone. On your secondary phone, install WhatsApp if you haven’t already, then select “Link as a Companion Device.” A QR code will appear on the secondary phone, which you can scan with your primary phone. Once linked, your WhatsApp chats will load onto both phones, and you’ll be able to view conversations from either device.
Additionally, WhatsApp allows you to connect your account to a laptop or desktop. Simply visit web.whatsapp.com on your computer, scan the displayed QR code using your phone, and your WhatsApp chats will be synced with the web version for easy access on your computer.
Keep in mind that while you can send and receive messages on multiple devices, calling features are only supported on the primary phone. Be sure that both devices have the latest version of WhatsApp to avoid compatibility issues, and always keep security in mind when linking new devices. With this feature, you can stay connected wherever you are, whether it’s on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
