Instagram Outage Leaves Users Unable to Post Stories and Photos

Global Disruption Hits Instagram, Users Report Login and Posting Issues

Late Wednesday evening, Instagram experienced a major outage, leaving users worldwide unable to log in, post stories, or upload photos. The disruption, which affected users across India and other regions, saw a peak in complaints reported to Downdetector at around 9:51 PM. In India alone, over 130 cases were logged as users encountered errors accessing their accounts or uploading content. According to Downdetector’s analysis, 71% of the reported issues were related to the app, 22% to login difficulties, and 6% to problems with profile access.

Frustrated Instagram users took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their concerns and seek help. Tweets such as “Is Instagram down for anyone else?” and “Can’t get to the bottom of Instagram… any help?” quickly circulated as people shared their experiences with the app’s unexpected downtime. Some users even took a lighthearted approach, joking about how “Instagram down” moments always lead people to Twitter.

While the outage disrupted services for several hours, it appears that Instagram functionality has now returned to normal. Despite the global nature of the issue, Instagram has yet to release an official statement explaining the cause of the disruption. If users are still facing problems, common solutions include checking for app updates or restarting the device, which may resolve any lingering issues.
