Apple has rolled out its much-anticipated iOS 18.4 update on Monday, bringing its Apple Intelligence features to users in India. Previously available only in regions like the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, this update marks the introduction of advanced AI tools to Indian users, with localized language support for English (India), French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, German, and Simplified Chinese.
Apple Intelligence is available for select iPhone models, including the iPhone 16 series (iPhone 16e, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max) and iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. To check for the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update. As the update is being rolled out gradually, it may take a few days to reach all eligible devices.
Key Features of Apple Intelligence in iOS 18.4
-
Enhanced Writing Tools: iPhone apps like Mail, Messages, Notes, and Pages now feature AI-powered writing tools. Users can refine, summarise, and rewrite text in various tones (such as professional or concise) and benefit from grammar suggestions.
-
Siri Upgrades: Siri is smarter and more capable, now understanding commands with greater precision. Thanks to integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, users can issue complex tasks and queries, significantly enhancing Siri’s utility.
-
Visual Intelligence: One of the most innovative features, Visual Intelligence allows users to scan objects or locations using their camera. Apple Intelligence will then provide detailed information about what the camera is focused on, offering smarter, more dynamic searches.
-
Genmoji: Genmoji adds a creative spin to messaging by allowing users to create personalized emojis based on text prompts. This fun feature allows for new stickers, emoji creations, and experimenting with custom designs.
Additional features include Image Playground, clean-up tools, priority mail, and a notifications summary. These updates aim to enhance overall usability and make the iPhone experience smoother and more interactive. With these new capabilities, iPhones are becoming even more powerful tools for productivity and entertainment.
