Chennai: In a bizarre incident, a man from Malappuram, Kerala, threw a slipper over the gate of actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay’s residence in Neelankarai, Chennai, on Wednesday. The act, which startled onlookers, led to immediate intervention by security personnel.
The intruder, whose behavior raised suspicions of a possible mental health condition, was quickly removed from the premises by Vijay’s security team. After the incident, he spoke to reporters, offering conflicting explanations for his actions. He initially identified himself as a resident of Malappuram and claimed that his act was meant as a “warning” to Vijay regarding his political engagements.
The timing of the incident has sparked speculation, as it coincides with preparations for the annual celebrations of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Vijay’s recently launched political party. Given the actor’s increasing political influence, some suspect the act could be linked to opposition from political adversaries or disgruntled individuals.
The police have yet to confirm if any legal action will be taken against the man. Meanwhile, Vijay’s supporters have condemned the act, stating that such behavior should not be tolerated regardless of political differences.
