Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi A5 in India, enhancing its range of entry-level smartphones with an impressive feature set aimed at budget-conscious buyers. Launched on April 16, 2025, the Redmi A5 brings a range of modern specifications, including a 120Hz refresh rate display, a 32MP camera, and a robust 5,200 mAh battery, all starting at an affordable price of ₹6,499.
The smartphone sports a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits, ensuring a vibrant and fluid viewing experience. The device also has an IP52 rating for water resistance and comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for added security.
Under the hood, the Redmi A5 is powered by the Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor, combined with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable to a massive 2TB via microSD card. Its 5,200 mAh battery is supported by 15W fast charging, providing reliable all-day usage.
For photography, the Redmi A5 is equipped with a 32MP primary rear camera and an 8MP front camera for clear selfies. It runs on Android 15 and is guaranteed two years of software updates and four years of security patches.
