Kerala Shines as ‘Best Performer’ in Startup India Ranking 2022, Palakkad Startup Bags National Award

In a proud moment for Kerala, the state has been recognized as the ‘Best Performer’ in the ‘State’s Start-up Ranking 2022’ under the A category, which includes states and Union Territories with a population of more than 1 crore. The accolade places Kerala among the top-performing states for fostering a thriving startup ecosystem. Palakkad-based Avinya Infinity Solutions Private Limited further contributed to the state’s success by winning the National Startup Award (2023) in the ‘NextGen Innovator’ category. Kerala’s remarkable achievement is attributed to its proactive government initiatives, including the “Innovation Grant Scheme” by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), which empowers startups to transform innovative ideas into successful businesses. The state’s commitment to financial support, strategic partnerships with SEBI-accredited Alternative Investment Funds, and initiatives like the Soft Loan against Purchase Order for women entrepreneurs showcase Kerala’s dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive startup environment.

The State’s Start-up Ranking, released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), acknowledged Kerala’s consistent performance in the competitive landscape of state-wise startup initiatives. Kerala has been at the forefront, sharing the limelight with other leading states in previous years. The government’s commitment to bridging startups with private funds is evident through successful programs like the “Investor CafĂ©,” facilitating meaningful interactions between startups and private investors. Kerala’s innovative approach, coupled with financial support, strategic collaborations, and initiatives promoting diversity, positions the state as a model for nurturing entrepreneurial endeavors. This recognition reaffirms Kerala’s status as a frontrunner in fostering a sustainable and vibrant startup ecosystem.
