Three students lost life in drowning Kayamkulam lake

Three students lost life in kayamkulam lake while taking a leisurely bath on Thursday evening. The incident occurred near Kappela (Kurisadi) in Kizhakkekara, Arattupuzha, and the deceased have been identified as Deva Pradeep (14) from Mahadevikadu, Vishnu Narayanan (15) and Gautam Krishna (14) from Chingoli.

According to locals, the children were seen at the lake around 4 pm on Thursday evening. When they did not return home, their families grew worried. A local resident went to the lake shore after hearing repeated phone rings and discovered the clothes of the children.

Efforts to rescue the students were carried out by the fire and rescue team and local residents. The bodies of two students were recovered at 9:30 pm the same evening, while the search for the third student continued late at night. The body was eventually found on Friday morning.
