The Bhaderwah Winter Festival, set to commence on December 27 in the scenic Bhaderwah Valley of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, promises a vibrant five-day celebration filled with cultural activities, sports, food fests, and shopping delights. The event will unfold at various picturesque locations, including the historic Qilla (Bhaderwah Fort), Jae Valley, Guldanda, and Gatha Park. District Development Commissioner Harvinder Singh, after a meeting with stakeholders, finalized a captivating lineup of activities ranging from cultural performances and local cuisine at Bhaderwah Fort to adventure sports like paragliding and trekking in Jae Valley. The festivities will culminate with a grand celebration at Gatha Park on the last day of the year, featuring performances by celebrity artists and singers, creating a memorable welcome for the new year.

Notably, alongside the cultural extravaganza, a parallel film festival is planned at the Community Centre, showcasing the latest Bollywood films and stories of local heroes throughout the five-day festival. Bhaderwah, already attracting a considerable number of tourists, aims to leverage the winter festival to promote local talent, craftsmanship, and cuisine. The district development commissioner emphasized the event’s role in providing a platform for diverse cultural performances, adventure sports, local handicraft exhibitions, and enticing food stalls, contributing to the overall appeal of Bhaderwah as an emerging and favored tourist destination.
