Kerala revises triple lockdown guidelines, and micro containment zones will be established

Thiruvananthapuram: On Thursday, the Kerala government revised the triple lockdown guidelines. According to the new order, even small areas will be designated as micro containment zones based on the number of cases. If members of a joint family with more than ten members test positive for COVID, the family will be designated as a micro containment zone.

The new order also directed local governments to declare an area a containment zone if 5 out of 100 people tested positive for COVID.

Micro containment zones will be identified as housing colonies, shopping malls, industrial units, markets, fish hubs, and flats.

If a 100-metre radius reports 5 COVID cases in a day, the area should be designated as a micro containment zone, and restrictions should be imposed, according to the revised order.

Depending on the number of cases, any small area, including streets and crowded areas, will be subject to strict restrictions.
