Jet Fuel Price Cut for Third Consecutive Month, Commercial LPG Rates Dip Marginally

In the latest development, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices witnessed a 4% reduction for the third consecutive month, providing relief to airlines grappling with financial challenges. The reduction, amounting to Rs 4,162.5 per kiloliter, follows the steady decline initiated in November and December. This ongoing trend has effectively nullified nearly 45% of the Rs 29,391.08 per kiloliter increase imposed over four months starting July 1. The consistent reduction is expected to alleviate operational costs for airlines, considering that jet fuel constitutes a significant portion of their overall expenses.

Additionally, commercial cooking gas (LPG) rates also experienced a slight reduction of Rs 1.50 per 19-kg cylinder, aligning with international benchmarks. The move is aimed at easing the financial burden on establishments such as hotels and restaurants that utilize commercial LPG for their operations.
