India announces 44,658 new COVID-19 cases, with Kerala remaining the worst-affected state
NEW DELHI: India recorded over 40,000 instances of coronavirus infections for the second day in a row on Friday, with Kerala continuing to be the worst-affected state, with over 30,000 new COVID-19 cases reported in the previous day.
With a total of 44,658 new COVID-19 cases, The total number of COVID-19 cases in India has risen to 3,26,03,188, with 3,44,899 active cases. The active cases account for 1.03 percent of all infections.

At least 32,988 recoveries have been documented, bringing the total COVID-19 recovery rate to 97.63%. According to data supplied by the Union Health Ministry, 496 people died as a result of the virus, bringing the total death toll to 4,36,861.
The daily positivity rate is 2.45 percent, which has been less than 3 percent for more than a month, and the weekly positivity rate (2.10 percent) has been less than 3 percent for more than 2 months. So far, 61.22 crore vaccine doses have been administered as part of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, with 79,48,439 being administered in a single day.
Kerala is the worst-affected state, with 30,007 new COVID-19 positive cases and 162 deaths reported in the last day.
