POCSO case: Football coach sentenced to prison in 52 years
A fast-track POCSO court sentenced a football coach to 52 years in jail after finding him guilty of sexually abusing minor boys. The convict is identified as 47-year-old Shaji, a resident of Thevara.
The verdict comes on the case filed in 2018. As per the case, the football coach sexually assaulted the boys after taking them to Kolanchery and Mazhuvannoor. He moved to hideouts in Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Delhi and Kashmir after the police registered the case. In August, he was convicted in a similar case and sentenced to 32 years in jail.
