CPI State Council Criticizes Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Government’s Financial Policies

In a recent state council meeting of the Communist Party of India (CPI), Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan faced severe criticism for the state budget presented by Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal. The CPI expressed dissatisfaction with the inadequate allocation for the Food Department, a portfolio held by the party. The meeting highlighted concerns over financial indiscipline and lavish spending by the CPM-led government, particularly targeting the allocation of funds for the maintenance of a cattle shed at the cliff house during a period of acute financial crisis. Additionally, the decision to allow foreign universities to establish campuses in Kerala was heavily criticized as a significant departure from the left front’s traditional policies.
