Former Kerala Minister AC Moideen Appears for ED Interrogation in Karuvannur Scam

Former Minister and member of the CPM state committee, AC Moideen, has presented himself for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding his involvement in the Karuvannur bank scam. It’s noteworthy that the veteran communist leader, who represents Kunnamkulam in the Kerala Assembly, had previously declined to appear before the ED on two occasions, citing various inconveniences. However, Moideen arrived at the Kochi ED office at approximately 9:30 AM, foregoing his attendance at the Thiruvananthapuram assembly session.

On July 22, the ED conducted a search at Moideen’s residence, during which they froze a fixed deposit of Rs 28 lakh held jointly by Moideen and his wife. Subsequently, summonses were issued to him.

Additionally, Thrissur corporation councillor Anoop Davis Cada and Wadakkanchery municipal standing committee chairman PR Aravindakshan were also summoned for questioning on the same day. There are indications that they might undergo interrogation together. All three individuals are under investigation in connection with financial dealings involving Satheesh Kumar. The ED has previously questioned Madhu Ambalapuram and KA Jijor, who are close associates of Satheesh Kumar, and is of the belief that these individuals acted as intermediaries in various financial transactions.
