The UP Police Department has filed a FIR against Twitter in connection with the Loni incident, despite the fact that the incident has no communal elements.

Ghaziabad – Nine entities, including Twitter India, were submitted to the FIR in relation to the Loni incident in which a man was thrashed and his bread was chopped.

Recently, a video was viral on social media outlets that saw six people shatter an elderly person. They also snapped the beard of the victims, and the victim was told to sing slogans like “Jai Shree Ram” and “Vande Mataram.”

But the police said in the FIR, “In Loni, where a man was thrashed and a beard was cut off, there is no community angle to the incident. The following agencies, without checking the fact, began communalizing this incident on Twitter and suddenly started distributing messages to disturb peace, and causing differences between the religious communities. The Wire, Rana Ayyub, Mohammad Zubair, Dr. Shama Mohammed, Saba Naqvi, Maskor Usmani, Salman Nizami”

Police also claimed that Twitter did nothing to prevent the video from becoming viral and, as accused by the FIR, it named “Twitter, Twitter Communications India Pvt, The Wire, Rana Ayyub, Mohammad Zubair, Dr Shama Mohamed, Saba Naqvi, Maskoor Nizami.” FIR police noted that the incident was not communal.”

FIR’s equivalent, “For a long time now, both the victim Abdul Samad Sufi and the defendants knew each other. The victim sold tabeez (amulet) to the key, who promised him well, but [Parvesh] complained that the impact on his family was adverse. The accused got angry and beat the victim when the tabeez didn’t work.”

The FIR also said that a case was filed and the police arrested the three accused who had discharged the elderly victim from the police in Ghaziabad.

On Tuesday, Asaduddin Owaii, the head of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) condemned the incident, which stated that they had been “snakened by the right to dignity” because they had been seized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

AIMIM Chief alleged that such incidents are happening against Muslims because they know they are being supported political by the ruling party.

He told reporters, “A 72-year-old man was thrashed and his beard was forcibly cut off. The people who attacked him, in the Muslims of this country, are of the same type. These assailants videotaped themselves brutally beating the elderly man and then shared it on social media.”

Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the Ghaziabad incident was a disgrace to society, prompting a sharp response from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who accused him of “spreading poison.”

“I am not willing to accept that true devotees of Lord Ram can do such a thing,” Rahul Gandhi said, tagging a report on the incident. “Such cruelty is far removed from humanity and is shameful for both society and religion,” he tweeted in Hindi.

Meanwhile, Ghaziabad Police have ruled out any communal overtones in the incident, stating that Sufi Abdul Samad was attacked by six men, both Hindus and Muslims, who were dissatisfied with the amulets he had sold them.

CM Adityanath cited the police statement and said, “The first lesson Lord Ram taught was to’speak the truth,’ which you have not done in your life.”

Yogi continued to criticise Gandhi in his Hindi tweet, saying, “You should be ashamed that, even after the police have revealed the truth, you are spreading poison in society,” he continued, adding, “You are shaming humanity in your greed for power.” Stop defaming and humiliating the people of Uttar Pradesh.”

Kalloo and Adil, the arrested youths, have been identified. Polly, Arif, Mushahid, and Parvesh Gurjar were also involved in the incident, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Amit Pathak.
