Puthupally By-Election Scheduled for September 5th Following Demise of Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy

Kottayam: The successor to Oommen Chandy is yet to be determined, and the polling booths in Puthupally are preparing for voting on the 5th of the upcoming month. The vote counting is scheduled for the 8th of September. The election’s code of conduct is in effect, and the deadline for submitting nomination papers is the 17th of this month, with the option to withdraw them until August 21. The by-election in Puthupally became necessary due to the unfortunate passing of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
