JNU : Delhi Police collects vital information to identify masked men

Delhi Police has Collected vital information to identify the masked people who stormed into the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Sunday and attacked teachers and students. However, details of the exact nature of these “vital leads” are unknown so far.The police are on “extra alert” as they suspect teachers and students to likely mobilise inside the JNU campus today.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Police received 11 complaints, including one lodged by a JNU professor in connection with the violence in the univeristy on Sunday. The 11 complaints received in connection with the violence at the varsity on Sunday, will be transferred to Crime branch, police said.

On Sunday, a mob of masked people stormed the JNU campus in and targeted students in three hostels, unleashing mayhem with sticks, stones and iron rods, hitting inmates and breaking windows, furniture and personal belongings. They also attacked women’s hostel.At least 35 people, including JNU Students’ Union president Aishe Ghosh, were injured in the violence in the university.
