Include these foods in your diet to combat iron deficiency

Iron is a mineral that your body requires to function properly. It aids in the preservation of many bodily functions. However, not getting enough iron can lead to a deficiency. According to yoga trainer and nutritionist Disha Gulati, low iron consumption often results in less hemoglobin production in the body.

“Iron deficiency is mostly caused by a poor diet or poor iron absorption. The deficiency in females can be caused by heavy menstrual bleeding “Disha stated.

Disha suggested ways to increase your iron consumption, saying that iron deficiency can be easily treated by making simple changes to one’s diet and adding a few drinks to it. The nutritionist also recommended a couple of drinks to help you overcome the deficiency:

Green Smoothie: Greens are an excellent source of iron. Blend spinach, beetroot, banana, and dates until smooth. These four ingredients will boost the body’s iron levels. These are high in magnesium, fibre, and vitamin C as well. This smoothie will aid in the removal of toxins from the liver. This smoothie is also beneficial for weight loss.

Halim Water: Garden cress seeds are another name for halim water. These seeds are extremely iron-rich. Soak the seeds for at least two hours in water. Now strain the water and drink it while working out. You can eat this meal with your meals or at any time during the day.

“Raagi or Bajra Rotis should be served with the meal. While these millets are slow to digest, they are high in calcium, fibre, and help to increase iron levels in the body “Disha stated.

She goes on to say that by making small changes in one’s kitchen, one can become smarter with your assistance. Bring back all of your iron utensils, such as saucer pans, spoons, tawas, and so on. When you begin cooking with iron-based utensils again, as Indian families have done for generations, you will automatically begin consuming iron. This is not to say that you should not include iron-rich foods in your diet (s).
