First Ship Arrival at Vizhinjam Port Delayed to October 15 Due to Adverse Weather

The anticipated arrival of the first ship at Vizhinjam Port has been postponed to October 15, according to Ports Minister Ahamed Devarkovil. The ship, which left China with a crane, is traveling at a reduced speed due to adverse weather conditions and is en route to Mundra port in Gujarat via Kerala’s coastal waters. It is expected to reach Mundra on October 29 after unloading the crane. While the official arrival date is set for October 15, the ship may arrive at the deep sea two days earlier. The completion of the first phase of the port is projected for May 2024.
